OVERVIEW | To facilitate students who are studying in secondary, higher secondary and college the government is operating hostels for Schedule Tribe students

GEOGRAPHICAL FOOTPRINTS | Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Valsad, Navsari, Dang, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Mehsana, Patan, Gandhinagar, Ahamedabad, Anand, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Chhotaudepur, Morabi, Kutch-Bhuj.
INTENDED BENEFICIARIES | Students who are studying in standard 8 to 12 and college.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA | Schedule Tribe boys whose parent’s annual income is up to Rs. 2.50 lakh. No income criteria for Schedule Tribe girls. Also, the students scoring 50% or higher marks shall get admission on basis of merit.
BENEFITS UNDER THE SCHEME | Free lodging and boarding facilities.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS | 165 government hostels are running, and providing lodging and boarding facilities to about 16,840 students.
