Development Support Agency of Gujarat (D-SAG)
The Development Support Agency of Gujarat (D-SAG) has been set up by the State Government as an autonomous body under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 with the Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat as the Chairman. D-SAG is primarily concerned with the successful implementation of the Chief Ministers Ten Point Programme (Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana) in the mission-mode.
The Society receives its funding from the State Government. Apart from two key personnel, it engages skilled professionals on a contract basis to carry out its key tasks. Broadly, D-SAG will play a critical role in areas such as identifying projects for the Programme, timely disbursal of funds and selection of implementing partners. It is the apex institution for co-ordination, evaluation, supervision and monitoring the work of corporations, boards and other bodies set up by the State Government and is given the responsibility of assisting the tribal communities for their economic development. D-SAG also has an advocacy role by extending help and assistance for furthering government policies and programmes for the development of tribal communities and areas.
