Tribal Research & Training Institute

Tribal Research & Training Institute, Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad was established in 1962. The Institute undertakes research and evaluation studies on various economic development programmes meant for tribals including ethnic and cultural aspects in the State. It also conducts different orientation/training courses for social workers, and government functionaries from different Departments.

It is partially funded by the Government of India. The Institute has a nine-member Board with the Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith as President, and a team of 15 technical personnel. It houses an excellent museum and a good library within its premises to provide insights into the tribal way of life and culture to students, academicians, foreigners and other visitors.
