Institutional Set-up to Prevent Exploitation
The Constitution of India, vide article 46, directs the State to promote with special care, the educational and economic interests of the Scheduled Tribes and to protect them from social injustice and exploitation.
Committees
A High Level Committee under the Chairpersonship of Hon'ble Chief Minister reviews the implementation of the Act. The Finance Minister, Revenue Minister, Social Justice and Empowerment (Tribal Development Department) Minister, Member of Parliament and State Legislature, and senior government officers are members of the Committee.
Special Courts
The Sessions Courts that have been designated as Special District Courts to prosecute cases under the Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989.
